Description
WWKIP was started 4 years ago by Danielle Landes, an Australian living in the USA, to bring together knitters and to help promote the craft of knitting. Last year, 800 events took place in 34 countries, 20 of them in Australia.
For the first two years, the central Sydney event took place in the café outside the Opera House – an iconic setting but not particularly suitable for a Winter gathering. So last year, it decamped to Darling Harbour, right next door to the Craft and Quilt Fair, which was taking place at the same time. Over 50 people attended and it was featured in a British magazine. This year, it’s staying at Darling Harbour because once again it coincides with the Fair. There will be door prizes kindly donated by Australian Country Spinners, Morris & Sons and Australian Knitting magazine. In addition there will be a competition with a prize generously donated by Mosman Needlecraft. No knitting needed for the competition – just brains! So bring along your knitting and crocheting to: The Bayside Lounge, Darling Harbour (near to the Exhibition Centre) Saturday 13th June 2009 Anytime between 1.30pm – 5.00 pm EventList powered by schlu.net |
