Description
What do crochet, hyperbolic mathematics and a coral reef all have in common? From 21 to 30 August, the Powerhouse Museum will host a crochet coral reef display that explores complex mathematics, biology and modelling. This Sydney reef is an adjunct to the Global Coral Reef, a project instigated by Margaret and Christine Wertheim of the Institute for Figuring, Los Angeles. Hear Christine discuss this unique project in this special Talks After Noon event. The Sydney hyperbolic crochet coral reef is presented by the Powerhouse Museum in collaboration with In Stitches collective. Help create the reef with crochet workshops at the Museum on 28 June and 26 July (free with Museum admission).
