Further Explanation:
Entrelac is knitting which creates a diamond pattern in 1 or more colours. There are no long loops of wool carried across the back of the knitting. Once the basic technique is learned it has lots of applications.
“Achievement Certificate help” refers to the Level I, II and III Achievement Certificates offered by the Knitters Guild so you can learn from basic tension swatches and cast on and cast off methods through to advanced techniques. Check the website or ask your local Convenor about the certificates if you have not heard about them already.
A Mobius is a circle with one twist in it. Many members have made mobius shawls. Sue will show you another way to use the mobius cast on to make a lovely neck warmer. This is a great way to revise the mobius cast on.
Filet Crochet uses basic crochet stitches to produce patterns used for curtains, doileys, tablecoths etc. This workshop not suitable for anyone who does not already know the basic crochet stitches. Yvonne Fazzolari is available by arrangement on Saturday if you need to learn basic crochet before Sunday’s workshop. Please make a note of this on your application.
Intarsia knitting makes patterns using multiple colours. You do not carry the wool across the back as you would do if knitting patterns in Fair Isle knitting.
Lace Workshops: The 2 Sunday workshops work best if you attend both, but there is the option to attend only one if you have knowledge in the other area. The Monday workshop is for those who have completed the Sunday afternoon workshop and advanced knitters who already know how to knit lace patterns.
Workshop Requirements
In late August or very early September, all those attending the camp will receive by mail or email a list of the workshops they will be doing and a list of what you need to bring to each of those workshops along with basic camp information.
