Inner City Group

The Knitters Guild and the Inner City branch in particular receive a number of requests throughout the winter for assistance. We thought it would be helpful just to outline what types of projects our group can help with.

Community Workshops and Events

Depending on time and availability, members of our group may be available to help with knitting events and workshops at community centres, libraries, and aged care facilities in the Sydney city area. We're happy to share our skills and enthusiasm with other knitters! We also have a stash of donated wool and needles that we can share if required. Please keep in mind however that many of our members work full-time, so it's helpful to give us as much notice as possible.

Charity Knitting

Do you have a charity that requires knitted items? We're always looking for groups in the Sydney area that we can support. Please let us know!

Sample Knitting

We occasionally receive requests from fashion designers, students, and artists who need help with handknitting projects. All we can really offer is to post the request to our members and see if anyone has the time/ability to help. Please keep in mind that handknitting takes a lot of time and most sample knitters are paid for their work. If you have a deadline or need special skills (such as pattern writing), you may be better off contacting one of the local knitting shops.

Wendy
I went on the bus trip to Mudgee last year and there was one of your members knitting HE HE dolls. There was also a workshop held at Darling Harbour for knitting the dolls which I could not attend because of time constraints. Would it be possible to forward me the instructions please?
