Knit & Nat
Sunday, 19 February 2012

Our next Knit and Nat is on Friday 2nd March.  At the Golf Club at 10am.

Please feel to just turn up with whatever you are knitting or crocheting at the time.  We would love to see you there.

Last weeks Knitters' Guild meeting was fabulous.  We finally worked out that we could order our lunch and eat it downstairs in our meeting room, which means we all stay together longer than we have in the past.  Most of us didn't leave till nearly 1.30pm.  Everyone said what a wonderful time they had.  Barbara taught quite a few the art of scrumbling.  We can't wait till next month to see what every one has produced.  Thanks Barbara for your excellent teaching.

Next month we will be learning cabling.  Watch this space for details of what to bring if you would like to learn a new skill.

February 17th Meeting
Wednesday, 08 February 2012

This month we will be doing scrumbling with Barbara.  If you want to learn how to do this bring a long 4 or 5 different yarns (plain or fancy) and some appropriately sized knitting needles and crochet hooks.

Everyone is welcome to come and join us.

Knit & Nat
Thursday, 02 February 2012

Our next informal get together is Friday 3rd February 2012 where we just sit and knit and natter to our hearts content. Come at 10 and stay till 2 or just come for a short time, whatever suits your needs.

We meet in the restaurant area of the club (in the corner near the bar) where you are free to buy drinks or coffee and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the golf club.  Most of us also buy our lunch which is cheap and delicious.

This gathering is not limited to guild members.  Anyone is welcome .  If you are new to knitting or crochet there are lots of people who will be more than willing to show you how to get started and guide you on the way.

January's Meeting
Monday, 09 January 2012

We are definitley meeting this month on 20th January.

We have two lessons happening - Scrumbling with Barbara and Grafting with Joyce.  We didn't do the grafting in December due to the smaller group, so we will try to fit it all in this month.

For scrumbling bring a variety of yarns, fancy and plain with appropriate sized knitting needles and/or crochet hooks.

For grafting, bring along two knitted pieces as follows:-

With size 4mm needles and 8ply yarn (preferably a light colour to see clearly what you are doing)

*Cast on 20 sts.

Slip 1st st knit ways, knit to end

Knit approx 20 rows like this

Leave stitches on needle

Repeat from * for second piece leaving on second needle

A lot of us join together for lunch in the restaurant afterwards.  It would be great if you could join us.
