Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef at Powerhouse Museum

"In Stitches" are happy to announce that The Sydney Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef will be installed at The Powerhouse Museum. The exhibition will take place in the Museum during Science Week from the 15th to the 23rd of August 2009.

"We are really excited that everyones beautiful hyperbolic coral will be installed at such an interesting and innovative public museum, The Sydney Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef is going to be spectacular."

In Stitches will also be having workshops at the Powerhouse Museum on the last Sunday of every month. Come along and bring a friend or two.

The Powerhouse Museum is located at 500 Harris St, Ultimo and is close to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Central Station (Sydney Terminal), Broadway bus station (Railway Square), and Paddy's Markets Monorail Station.

Also a reminder that if you have finished any coral and want to send it to be included in the installation you can send it to 'In Stiches'  7 / 195 - 199 Rochford St Erskineville NSW 2043.

The Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Project was created and developed by Margaret and Christine Wertheim of the Institute For Figuring in Los Angeles.

The Sydney Reef is one of an ever-expanding group of Satellite Reefs around the world that are adjuncts to the Core Collection of Institute For Figuring Reefs.
