In 2008 the Inner City group doubled their membership and consequently found their existing venue getting a bit cramped! A search was then conducted for a new home for the meetings. In February 2009, the perfect location was found... at Customs House Library at Circular Quay. The meeting room is large and well-equipped, and the location is well-serviced by public transport. We hope to see you there soon!
New location: Customs House Library, 2nd floor meeting room, Circular Quay, Sydney [map]
New time: 11am on the second Saturday of each month (starting March 14th) |

There are several knitting-related charity drives on at the moment to support the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal. Please consider donating to one of them.
- Knitters' Charity Raffle. This Australian knitter has amassed a huge collection of knitting-related items (wool, books, gift certificates) that will be raffled off. Every $10 you donate to the Red Cross Appeal earns you a ticket. So if you need any more motivation, check it out.
- OzBushfireAppeal Etsy Shop. Crafters from Australian and around the world have donated beautiful handmade items for this shop. All items have free International Shipping, and all proceeds go the Australian Red Cross.
- Possum/Joey Pouches. WIRES carers are in need of knitted pouches and sewn linings to keep injured and orphaned marsupials safe and warm. (Pattern details at that link.)

The Guild is happy to welcome a new Retail Member: Eaglewood Alpacas!
Eaglewood Stud is located at Murrumbateman inbetween Yass and Canberra with approx 60 alpacas in varying colours. They get the wool converted into 5 and 8 ply. No dyes are used at all and all colours are natural as they change by the mix of the colours the owner puts into each batch. The wool is also organically grown. Alpaca wool is beautifully soft fibre that is luxurious and beautifully warm. Members of the Knitters' Guild are being given the opportunity to buy straight from the stud, saving a great deal on money if brought retail ($12 normally). Orders of 10 balls plus are only $6.90 per ball plus Postage and Handling. On line ordering will be available soon at www.eaglewood.com.au. The stud also sells fleece depending on availablility. |

So, what will be your knitter’s New Years Resolution? Perhaps it will be to challenge yourself to undertake one of the Guild’s Achievement Certificates.
The syllabuses in both knitting and crochet have been designed to revise and/or introduce a series of techniques to develop your knowledge and understanding. There are currently three stages applicable to knitting (with a fourth concentrating on design in development) and two stages applicable to crochet.
Documentation to get you on your way to learning more about your craft can be obtained by emailing
