The Newcastle Craft & Sewing Show runs this year from 18th to 21st August and a few members of the Guild thought it would be fun to knit in public all the way to Newcastle on the train. However, this is NOT a purely Guild event – all knitters and crocheters, and family, are invited.
The “Knitting Train” will leave Central Station at 8:15am on Sunday 21st August, arriving at Broadmeadow (only a few minutes’ walk from the Show) at 10:54am. I believe the cost of a day trip return train ticket for Sundays is $10.80.
On the train, there’ll be “Show and Tell” so bring along your favourite FO’s or UFO’s, or “I want to know”, where if there’s something you’ve always wanted to know how to do, we’ll try to match you up with someone else who can show you.
AND we have four free tickets for the Show to give away in a draw on the train - thank you to the organisers, Expertise Events
The train back leaves Broadmeadow at 2:43pm arriving at Central at 5:12pm, or if you wish to stay later, there’s another at 3:32pm, arriving Central at 6:10pm.
Show entry is $14.00 for adult, $34 for family (2 adults and 2 children), $7 for children (aged 5-16 years), and $12 for seniors card holders and age & disability pensioners.
