The Guild holds several events to facilitate the development of skills and bring members together to share our craft and foster friendships.

Workshops

Regular workshops are held virtually online and in person. These cover a wide range of knitting and crochet skills and accommodate all skill levels. Information is also imparted on important topics such as entering shows for example and other topics.

Fibre Fest

Fibre Fest is an annual event held at Wyong racecourse over the weekend in early Spring which brings retail members ( and non-members) together to showcase their fibre and related notions and the event is open to the public free of charge to sample and purchase fibre from local and not so local producers and retailers. The fashion parade is an opportunity for designers and yarn stores to show off their designs, yarns, patterns and kit creations as completed garments. There is also food, drinks, competitions, raffles, prizes entertainment and a great day out for everyone. A designer chosen by the Guild provides a free pattern and there are prizes awarded for the best completed designs worn by the creator.

Gathering

Bi-annual Gatherings are held at Stanwell Tops Conference Centre and the next Gathering will be held in 2026. Members and non-members are encouraged to attend this event held from Friday to Sunday with residential or non-residential attendance options provided. Workshops are held, as well as tutorials and talks from experienced and international designers such as Ann Budd, Norah Gaughan, and Bristol Ivy. These are just some of the past guest speakers and teachers. Shelly Husband the Crochet superstar has also been a past guest. There are games, quizzes, prizes and lots of opportunities to sit knit and natter. The Gatherings are well attended and extremely popular as they enable members from any group to come along and meet and spend time with like minded crafters.
